President & CEO
Chris McLeod is the founder of CLM Marketing LLC, a strategic marketing consultancy in Washington D.C. He began his marketing career in the prestigious Omnicom MBA Residency program in New York City rotating through different marketing and advertising agencies learning brand strategy, digital marketing, and global advertising. His most notable accounts included ExxonMobil, Microsoft, Hyatt, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Humana to name a few. An opportunity to expand his experience to the public sector brought him back to Washington D.C. where he helped lead the branding, marketing and communications efforts for government agencies including the Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Small Business Administration (SBA).
In 2011 Chris started CLM Marketing LLC to provide marketing and branding services to small businesses and non-profit organizations. Since that time the firm has worked with organizations all over the country and become a government contractor for both D.C. government and the federal government, earning the status as a Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) with HUBZone certification.
Chris is also a dedicated member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and has served as a mentor for college-bound young men in Washington D.C., New York, and Massachusetts,
He received his B.A. in Law, Jurisprudence, & Social Thought from Amherst College and an M.B.A in Marketing from Howard University.
Advertising Campaign Development
The Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County
Educate the public about the wide range of Family Crisis Center’s (“FCC”) services to support both domestic violence (“DV”) survivors and abusers. The organization needed to change the public’s perception that FCC was only a domestic violence shelter, while also letting people know that they also offer services for DV abusers as well as victims.

We developed the “Call Me Victor” advertising campaign that raised awareness about FCC and changed the traditional tone of the domestic violence messaging from a focus on the abuse to a more inspirational and results-focused communications that highlighted how FCC helps both victims and abusers to be victorious after domestic violence.
The campaign appeared at bus stops and metro stations across Prince George’s county and led to a 15% increase in calls to the center hotline.

Asante Children’s Theatre
Asante Children’s Theatre (“ACT”) needed to expand its audience beyond the immediate community and change the public’s perception about what the organization does. Furthermore, ACT needed to position itself better to potential funders.

Over the course of two years, we worked with ACT to gradually change its brand positioning and messaging as well as provide recommendations on how to use more effective advertising techniques. We provided a range of activities and deliverables including digital surveys to understand current brand perceptions, competitive analyses to learn how others message, and brand perceptual mapping to identify the opportunities for deep customer relationships.
